크림슨 로즈는 외딴 언덕 꼭대기의 위플리 가족의 저택에서 가정부로 일하게 된다.
외부인으로부터 철저히 고립된 채 사는 가족은 일견 평범해 보이지만 크림슨은 자꾸 알 수 없는 두려움을 느낀다.
거기다가 미스터리한 방문객까지 등장하면서 가족들의 충격적인 행적들이 하나둘 드러난다.
